Professional statement

Christina recognizes the immense relief, catharsis, and growth from simply talking about a problem, but knows sometimes it is not enough. Being a scientist's daughter, it is important for her to study and offer evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and exposure-response prevention. Recognizing not everything can be clearly proven, keeping an open mind is key, while discussing spiritual interventions and experiences can be profoundly healing as well.

Along the lines of evidence-based therapy, Christina focuses on the findings of Carl Rogers and the three things that make therapy most effective and helpful: congruence (being real, authentic), unconditional positive regard, and accurate empathy. She strives to embody these while working with clients. She believes the therapeutic alliance is crucial and will work together in alignment toward shared goals.

Message to clients

There is so much healing and medicine in simply being able to speak the truth - especially if it has never been spoken out loud before - in a completely safe space. This is where I believe the magic lies in talk therapy. It is my honor to be a supportive listener and witness to shared truths and respond with empathy and acknowledgment. We will work together as a team in alignment with therapeutic goals for growth and healing.

While there is immense relief, catharsis, and growth from simply talking about a problem, this is sometimes not enough. Being a scientist's daughter, it has been really important to study and offer evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and exposure response prevention, to name a few. If there is research to show that an approach can be reliably helpful to most people struggling with a particular issue, I am all for providing that approach!
