Professional statement

Christine Snyder, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker providing virtual therapy throughout the state of New Jersey. Christine specializes in helping individuals understand and navigate the complications of infidelity in their relationships. She also has a special interest in working with adult males with depression and anxiety. Christine has also completed specialized training to work with men and women with postpartum and pregnancy-related concerns, including those confronting infertility concerns, postpartum depression and anxiety, or pregnancy loss.

Christine’s style is compassionate, conversational, and engaging. She places importance on the relationship she has with her clients and provides a safe environment for them to express themselves. She is currently pursuing postgraduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and uses this knowledge to help clients explore how their family patterns play a role in their current situation.

In addition to her graduate degree in social work, Christine has undergraduate degrees in sociology and music and she works as a freelance church organist when not seeing clients.

Message to clients

Initiating the search for a therapist can be really cumbersome. I understand how difficult it can be to find just the right person that you click with. I’d welcome the opportunity to discuss working together.

What you are dealing with right now feels like the depths of sadness, despair, and anxiety. With work, time, and the support of a compassionate therapist, these heavy feelings can be lifted. Whether you are unhappy in your current relationship, discovering the infidelity of a partner, or questioning your professional identity, therapy can help to heal. Working to understand yourself better can help you to feel more confident, experience less tension, and ease in your well-being. It may be hard to believe that right now, but it is possible. Let’s also not forget that in addition to whatever you’re already dealing with that we’ve been also dealing with the complications that a pandemic has caused. Working together with you, we will start where you’re at and begin to figure things out.

I’m available for limited in-person appointments in Boonton and Livingston on Mondays and Wednesdays, respectively. I also have openings for virtual therapy sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, mornings and afternoons.
