Professional statement

Cynthia Luft is a Licensed Mental Health Counselors whose clients experience her as engaging, dynamic and warm. She brings a keen intuition and insight to the process. With over 20 years of experience she's worked with a breadth and depth of people and their concerns. She is a solid and seasoned clinician that you can trust.

Cynthia's approach to the work is guided by the perspective that each person is a unique individual who wants and needs to understand her/himself deeply and to discover what has meaning and purpose for them. With this approach she seeks to identify the problematic patterns of thought and reactions in relationship to oneself and others that cause suffering and conflict. When these are worked through, you will experience relief and a greater sense of well-being.

Cynthia has offices in NYC and in Westchester and also offers sessions remotely on video. She looks forward to meeting you.

Message to clients

Taking the time and getting help to make sense of yourself, your reactions and feelings is an important aspect of self-care. We human beings need to understand ourselves in order to live happier healthier lives and have better relationships.

We spend a great deal of time attempting to do that, often however, in ways that hurt us more than help. For instance, comparing ourselves to others, evaluating ourselves as good or bad, winners or losers, right or wrong, etc. are two examples of this. We can't understand ourselves through critical self-talk. I can help you learning new ways to make sense of yourself--your feelings, reactions and needs, etc. In sessions I am dedicated to engage you and any and all of your concerns deeply and empathically.
