Professional statement

Dr. Diana Ali is a licensed psychologist in Ventura, California with an expertise in helping clients mindfully navigate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. She has also worked extensively with individuals experiencing varying degrees of trauma, and welcomes individuals who have symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD).

Many of Dr. Ali's clients seek support when experiencing professional burnout or chronic emotional dysregulation; others are grappling with persistent anger, sadness, or mood swings. Others have gone through or are currently facing a chronic illness, and are adapting to the significant life changes it entails.

Dr. Ali is a specialist in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a highly effective, skills-based approach to treatment that incorporates mindfulness and elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This treatment helps clients learn to cope with difficult situations and build emotional resilience. Dr. Ali is skilled at helping her clients examine and question self-limiting patterns of thoughts and behaviors, and change greater patterns that are standing in the way of their goals and desires.

Dr. Ali's practice is located in Ventura, CA and she also offers remote sessions for clients throughout the state of California. She looks forward to meeting you.

Message to clients

If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, OCD, a chronic illness, professional burnout, or other sources of overwhelming emotions, I believe there is hope for you.

If you've tried traditional talk therapy and felt like you didn't make much progress, you may benefit from a different approach. I offer trauma-specific treatments such as EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy and have had the privilege of witnessing the profound changes that can come when we are able to heal the wounds from our past. I also offer practical, skills-based approaches to therapy like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My approach to therapy is aimed at working with you to recover from past trauma, to build the life that you want, to move toward your values, and to change the behaviors that may be getting in the way of your goals. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and evidenced-based treatments that empower my clients to heal and to learn practical skills to improve their lives. I view therapy as a collaborative, team effort, between the client and therapist.

Together, we will work on reducing your suffering and building your life. I realize that it takes great courage to face our challenges and ask for help. I invite you to message me directly to schedule a free, 15-minute phone consultation.
