Psychologist, PhDDr. Elisa Fuller is a Psychologist located in Culver City, CA. Dr. Fuller specializes in providing new and expecting mothers the support they need as they experience the transition that comes with growing a family. Some of Dr. Fuller’s clients arrive at therapy feeling disconnected, empty, and frustrated, though they’re not sure why. Other clients have tried to manage their anxiety or depression, but haven’t yet found an effective way to maintain a sense of wellbeing. This could be the result of a trauma or the stress of everyday living. Dr. Fuller helps her clients better understand their distress and find effective ways of coping with it.
Dr. Fuller practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based therapy modality that draws a strong connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Dr. Fuller teaches clients how to avoid painful self-talk that can lower self-esteem and set arbitrary, impossibly high expectations. Clients can practice their coping skills with guidance from Dr. Fuller, who might offer variations on deep breathing exercises, visualizations, or self care practices. Dr. Fuller also utilizes coaching techniques in her work with clients, helping them set and attain mental health goals. She provides a calm, compassionate space for clients to talk about what’s on their mind and what’s upsetting them.
Dr. Fuller earned a PhD from Fielding Graduate University and completed a post-doctorate fellowship in early childhood at University of California, Los Angeles. She is passionate about helping those with medical trauma, including from childbirth and strives to create an affirming, secure environment for clients.
