Professional statement

Halley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) holding space for children and their caregivers in North Carolina and Florida. Halley is an expert in child development and the parent-child relationship. She supports families by teaching them how to best support an anxious child, how to grow the parent-child bond, and how to manage a variety of parenting challenges. This includes families who have experienced the adoption or foster care process, those with developmental disorders and complex medical needs, and children who display behavioral issues. Halley is also passionate about working with folks across the lifespan as they develop a closer relationship with themselves, including finding the empowerment needed to take control of their mental health.

In sessions with families, Halley utilizes several evidence-based approaches to support parents and their children. She is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Halley believes that her role, as a therapist, is to heal relationships and uses her training in these models as a foundation for providing a balance of concrete tools to provide relief and to empower parents while holding compassionate, non-judgmental space where all thoughts and feelings are welcome and witnessed.

Halley earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She has over ten years of experience working with children and their families. She honors parents’ wisdom, offering a safe space to be honest about the challenges of parenting and providing hope for healing and change.

Message to clients

Hi! I’m so glad that you’re reaching out--asking for support is brave and bold and a beautiful model for your child(ren) and those around you. It’s my hope that through our work together we can contribute to a world where children have healthy, supportive relationships with their parents, where adults have healed wounds from their childhood, and where we are living intentionally and authentically, changing inter-generational patterns that no longer serve us. To get there, I strive to create space for honesty and vulnerability about how hard it can be to parent and to human.

I believe that it truly takes a village to raise a child, to love a family, and to hold each individual. From my place as a helper in the collective village, I feel truly honored to be a part of the lives and journeys of everyone I hold space for. I look forward to working with you toward the healing and harmony that you envision. We’re in this together!

Therapist's note

I am committed to making high quality mental health treatment accessible to as many children and families as possible. I also believe strongly in the power of community to care for one another. In honor of these values, my practice is structured such that families and individuals who have generational wealth, or the financial means to pay a higher fee, can do so in support of folks who are committed to their mental health and who find the standard rate to be prohibitive. My goal is that everyone gets what they need, that everyone feels supported, that my practice is sustainable, and that no one who is seeking support is turned away.
