Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsI'm a NYC based queer trans non-binary therapist of mixed South Asian descent (Indo-Fijian & Caucasian) that primarily works with QTBIPOC communities.
I approach therapy as a co-created space that nurtures curiosity of oneself, making room to examine who you are, what shaped you, and how to live authentically. We are subject to many different systems that attempt to define and limit who we can be, so by understanding and being able to identify what shaped you, you can then choose for yourself which of those definitions to keep, which to discard, and what you define for yourself; ultimately allowing for growth beyond the boundaries of existence within oppressive structures. In this space, we can move from a position that may be otherwise charged and consequential to being okay with where we are at, while leaving open the possibilities of self-discovery.
As a therapist I join with clients in their process of assessing who they are and what holds them back from being who they want to be. I do this by striving for a relationship that fosters collaboration, openness, trust, and safety with clients. My practice is relational and psychodynamic, and centers on trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices while incorporating tools and skills derived from CBT, ACT, and mindfulness. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma/abuse, identity development and issues (i.e. gender, sexuality, racial), navigating multiple marginalized identities, conflict and/loss with family, and transition/life changes.
08/24/2023- At this time, I am not accepting new clients who utilize sliding scale fees or insurance. I maintain a waitlist, so if you'd like to work together in the future don't hesitate to reach out.
