Jen Handler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in NoMad, Manhattan. Jen specializes in working with relationship conflicts of all kinds, self-esteem/shame, anxiety, depression, and college/graduate student mental health. Jen also has deep experience working with members of the LGBTQIA community and has helped clients better understand their gender and/or sexual identity.
In addition, Jen enjoys helping people who are struggling with career challenges and with creative blocks. As a former lawyer, Jen has personal experience with working in high-pressure work environments and with career transitions.
Jen takes an insight-oriented approach to therapy, drawing upon her extensive post-graduate training from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. She uses her relationship with her clients to better understand how they relate to others in their life. Jen helps clients become more in touch with their own complex feelings and desires, and encourages them to embrace their full, authentic selves.
Jen also draws upon her training in relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and emotionally-focused therapy to work with couples to help them understand the cycles of conflict they find themselves in, and learn how to restructure those cycles.
Jen welcomes clients of all identifies and backgrounds to her office, which is at the edge of NoMad with close proximity to most subway lines and the Path train.
