Professional statement

Jennifer Green (Jenn) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Providence, RI. She has spent many years working in the mental health field in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospital programs. She has experience working with clients from many different backgrounds who bring a wide range of concerns to therapy. Some of these include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use.

Her goal is to help clients live a more hopeful and fulfilled life. She believes that change is always possible.

Jenn primarily uses a cognitive behavioral (CBT) approach, which helps explore connections between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She also uses principles from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help improve distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships & mindfulness. She has a holistic approach, recognizing the link between mind and body. She draws from her experience working in the fitness industry as a group exercise instructor, personal trainer, and certified yoga instructor for over 12 years. Learning more about nutrition and how it impacts mental health is one of her passions.

She also believes that faith and spirituality is an important part of wellness. She offers a Christian perspective in counseling for those who seek a faith-based approach. She also welcomes individuals of all faiths and beliefs.

At Dyad Psychology, Jenn sees adults ages 18 and up and offers in-person and virtual options.

Message to clients

My hope is to support you in whatever challenges you are facing in life. I will work collaboratively with you as we set goals and identify the best approach to meet your needs. You deserve to feel heard and valued, and I strive to make our sessions a place where you experience that.

If you are new to therapy or not sure what to expect in sessions with me, don't worry! You can book a 10-minute consult so that we can determine if we'd be a good fit. The first session(s) will be about getting to know you and identifying your goals for treatment. Some of my clients like to receive homework between sessions which I'm happy to provide. I appreciate when clients share insights about themselves and the preferences they have in therapy.

Sessions can be weekly or less frequent depending on your needs. At this time I have openings Monday and Friday afternoon/evenings.
