Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, LCADC Master of Social Work, MSWJennifer Hooper is an LCSW by trade and has been doing therapy for about 17 years. She is often respected as an expert in her field. In addition to direct care, she has also built and ran programs, written curriculums and supervised and trained many upcoming therapists. Jennifer loves getting to know people and participating in seeing them grow. She absolutely loves her work and is dedicated to constantly learning new ways to help people.
In session, Jennifer works to create an environment of growth and accountability for her patients. She has an eclectic mix of science based strategies and her approach varies quite a bit depending on the person. Jennifer believes that customizing the therapy experience honors the person and the therapeutic relationship. She values understanding people and where they are coming from. She believes in direct communication and that accountability without shaming is key to anyone's change process. Overall, Jennifer believes that change is possible and that having the right kind of support can make all the difference.
At the heart of all she does, is patient care. Jennifer finds happiness as a clinician by continuing to personally work side by side as partners with her patients. She believes the patient-therapist relationship is real and this allows her patients to feel l comfortable with being vulnerable. Jennifer strives to ensure that patients feel heard and are involved in the treatment process. She educates and challenges in language that makes sense without causing shame or feelings of judgement. Jennifer works hard to make her patients feel support and to give them tools and skills to move forward and through whatever they are struggling with. To put it simply, Jennifer will believe in you and hope for you even when you don't know how to do it for yourself.
