Professional statement

Jessica Mowry is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the Garden City area of Cranston. She works with adults and couples of all ages. Many of Jessica’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Jessica is particularly passionate about serving those experiencing life transitions. She also has advanced training in the area of anxiety, depression and substance use.

Jessica is trained in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy and mind-body therapies. The process is intended to examine thoughts, feelings and behaviors to better understand the relationship to one’s self and others, and then discover an approach to life that feels better. In session, Jessica focuses on narrative therapy, breathing exercises, writing and other creative expressions, and therapeutic role play. This approach supports clients to feel more grounded, capable, and guided by their own truth.

Jessica's style is supportive, non-judgmental and empowering. When clients first start therapy she focuses on establishing a strong relationship where they feel safe to be authentic, exploratory and set goals for their best life.

Jessica received her MSW from Boston University. She has worked at local community organizations and a local hosptial serving adults experiencing difficulty with mental health and substance use. Outside of private practice, she enjoys running and cooking. Jessica offers both in-person and remote therapy sessions at times that accommodate those with traditional work schedules.

Message to clients

My kind, non-judgmental and supportive approach is intended to accompany you on an exploration of what is working, and what is not working for you. I approach therapy sessions as a curious, warm, and sometimes irreverent partner in the process.

My goal is to help you feel better, and see where you have the power in your life, and perhaps where you don’t need to have power. Taking the first step is often the most difficult, but it’s each little effort that leads to a different, healthier reality. You set the pace and the desired outcomes; I’ll help you get there.
