Message to clients

I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I see college students and other adults for issues including anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. I also see people for work-related stress. People who call me are often feeling overwhelmed or distressed. They are looking for symptom relief and ways to cope with the stress around them.

I have extensive experience with a number of approaches that alleviate anxiety and depression and help you feel more in control, even under personal or work-related stressful circumstances.

I draw from a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy (IPT), which focuses on relationships.

In our first meeting, I will listen closely to your story—attending to what is most bothersome right now and what your goals are. Some people want to learn specific coping skills, especially for managing anxiety. Others are interested in understanding familiar patterns that are getting in their way.

We can address the “here and now" and focus on a current stressful situation and work on reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. We can also take a broader view to help you better understand yourself and your relationships.

It is most important that therapy is helpful and relevant to you. I seek to create an environment where you feel understood and supported. My style is active and conversational. We will work together so that you can feel more in control and more hopeful about yourself and your circumstances.
