Joanne Bonami

Joanne Bonami is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Brandon, FL. Joanne enjoys helping clients reach their full potential. Many of her clients start therapy because they have goals for themselves or their mental health and want the support of a professional to achieve these goals. This is especially the case for those who are going through major life transitions, whether that’s starting college, beginning a career or making a career switch, ending a relationship, or growing a family. Joanne teaches clients how to combat feelings of confusion and worthlessness, as well as low self-esteem and low confidence.

Joanne takes a holistic approach to supporting clients. She encourages clients to consider their physical health in addition to their emotional health as they create goals, as she believes that the mind-body connection can be a powerful tool in healing. She uses a solutions-focused framework and coaching perspective when working with clients, so that their goals are always at the front of the mind during sessions. When appropriate, Joanne offers Christian Counseling, which is a way for clients to make sense of their mental health or life situations through a religious lens. Lastly, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based therapy modality that changes thought patterns as a way of accessing mood elevation or behavioral change.

Joanne earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from St. Leo University. She has nearly ten years of experience working in the mental health field. Her goal is to provide clients with the discovery, recovery, and restoration that they need to feel in control of their lives and to feel empowered in their life transitions.
