Professional statement

Jonathan works with adults aged 24+ from a variety of backgrounds in the Boston area, as well as across the state of Massachusetts. His clients include financial, technology, medical, or academic professionals, attorneys, PHD candidates, writers, musicians, therapists, and social workers.

In his work with clients, Jonathan uses a holistic approach that often includes elements of unstructured CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy. Rather than fit a client’s experience to a particular theory or approach, Jonathan brings a genuine curiosity to the process of learning about how clients experience themselves in their world.

Jonathan is a member of The New England Center for Existential Therapy (NECET). He has completed the foundational courses at The Institute for Existential-Psychoanalytic Therapy, and continues his education through advanced seminars with Institute and NECET founder, Robert Fox, LICSW.

Jonathan has a background in business. Prior to opening his private practice, Jonathan worked in non-profit and community mental health settings. He is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts.

Jonathan is seeing clients online. The best ways to connect with him are to book a free initial 10-minute consultation on this page, or to reach out to him via email.

Message to clients

There are many reasons you might be seeking therapy at this moment. You may be struggling alone with difficult emotions or situations in your life. You may feel stuck and need a confidential thought partner to consider major decisions that need to be made. You may have begun to notice relational patterns that keep repeating, or maybe you have experienced losses that are in need of recognition and grieving. If perfectionism, procrastination, imposter syndrome, or creative blocks are a part of your experience, you are not alone. Therapy offers you the ability to bring the power of human relationship to bear on these and other problems in an empathetic, confidential, and non-judgmental setting.

While every therapy relationship is different, our work together will likely include some combination of learning tangible skills, new cognitive or philosophical approaches, an exploration of how things came to be, and a clarification of your values. I will also share ideas about relevant books, links, information sheets, and articles as appropriate.

Feel free to reach out to schedule a free initial consult to see if we might be a fit. If this is your first experience with therapy, I’ll take the time to explain how the process might unfold. If we choose to move forward, we’ll work together to clarify your goals for the sessions. I’ll follow your lead as to what level of depth you are comfortable with in addressing events, relationships, and issues in your life.
