Katherine Gotis is a Licensed Associate Counselor in Phoenix. She works with adolescents, adults, and families who desire healing and authentic connection with SELF and others. Her clients tend to be truth seekers and are willing to take up the often-challenging task of compassionate self-exploration. Katherine enjoys serving people who are motivated, committed to their own healing journey, inspired to do the work, and who want to go deep. She also loves working with young people and their families and supporting them to develop communication skills and ways of relating that promotes flourishing for all members.
Katherine is trained in Family Systems, EFT, & Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) which is grounded in neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, mindfulness, & somatics. AEDP focuses on healing suffering and encourages growth and transformance, while undoing the sometimes unbearable pain of aloneness. Sessions with Katherine are deep, transformative, and promote healing from the start. Her style is warm, compassionate, relational, emotion focused, and creative.
Uniquely sensitive to the needs of others, Katherine's background gives her a holistic perspective on mental/emotional health. In addition to being a counselor, Katherine is a Registered Nurse, a longtime Zen (mindfulness) practitioner, has taught/practiced yoga for over two decades, and she has curated and taught creative process workshops throughout the years.
She received her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (emphasis in Somatics) at Prescott College. She trained in the complex art of family therapy at The Sky Center in Santa Fe, NM and is a Level 2 Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) practitioner. When not accompanying you on your healing journey, she enjoys hiking in the Sonoran Desert-even in summer- exploring the wild edges of mind, science, art, & culture, and contemplating the mysterious riddles of existence in its many forms.
