I obtained a Master of Arts degree in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University in 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University in 2011. I have 12 years of experience working in the mental health field and 6 years of experience working within the substance abuse population. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate and have been credentialed for 6 years in North Carolina. I’m also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate and have been credentialed for 5 years in North Carolina. For the past 4 years I’ve been working with Partners of Sex and Porn Addicts, which includes providing couples and marriage counseling. My focus on working with Partners of SA/PA is guiding them through the betrayal trauma they’ve experienced to reach an emotionally stable place where they’re able to start the healing process. The approach I’ve acquired to facilitating couples and marriage counseling, has been attuning to each partners needs and helping them be able to effectively communicate how they feel with one another. I’ve completed the Partners Recovery Therapist Certification through Dr. Doug Weiss’ AASAT program and to further implement effective services from a holistic perspective within this population, I’m also completing the ABCST Sex Therapist Certification while under the direct supervision of Dr. Jennifer Konzen, director of The Center for Sexuality.
