Kim Yancey is a Licensed Social Worker in Queens, NY. She works with individuals and couples. Many of Kim’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and self-doubt. Kim is particularly passionate about serving BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), introverts, people living with chronic illness, and physical disabilities. She also has advanced training in the area of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders.

Kim is trained to integrate mindfulness, meditation, and talk therapy with a strength-based, person-centered approach. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to examine your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, understand what is or isn't working, and shift them to healthier habits. In session, Kim focuses on exploring creative expression as well as breathing exercises and grounding techniques to assist you in stressful situations. She also assigns homework as needed. This holistic approach supports clients, and allows you to safely process depression, stress, and anxiety, without judgement; helping you to utilize your strengths to achieve your short and long term goals. .

Kim's therapeutic style is warm, nurturing, and most of all healing. When clients first start therapy with Kim, she will establish a strong therapeutic relationship, and comfortable environment where you will feel safe and heard.

Kim received her MSW from CUNY Hunter's, Silberman School Of Social Work. She has worked at various agencies that served children, and families, as well as people with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities. Outside of private practice, she enjoys traveling, reading, and painting to relax. Kim offers remote therapy sessions.

I provide a holistic approach to therapy in a safe, supportive environment where you will feel free and open to share your feelings and thoughts.

As a holistic provider, I build a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients. Providing a warm, nurturing, and most of all healing environment. My holistic approach to feeling loss, self-doubt, or even stuck include teaching techniques of mindfulness, supportive counseling, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. We all know, there is no one-stop-shop for therapy. I will meet you where you are at, while helping you get to where you want to be. Creating a space for you to feel safe to process your feelings and experiences, without judgment.
