Each person has their own lived experience that creates unique issues. As a counselor, Laura treats each client's story as uniquely as the next. She listens, finds themes of dysfunction or discomfort, and then brings them to the client’s attention so she can help them find relief.
Her approach to therapy is holistic and individually tailored to meet clients’ needs. Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so Laura will look at all the factors contributing to the challenges clients have, including family and cultural values, past experiences, and current events happening in the world. By using an insight-oriented therapeutic approach, clients learn not just "how" to cope, but also, why these thoughts/behaviors started occurring.
Healing involves awareness of the mind, body, and spirit to create the most effective results. Laura enjoys combining narrative therapy, internal family systems, and holistic care to provide each client with the best help.
