Lauren Diaz is a board-certified and licensed creative arts therapist offering remote and in-person sessions in New York City. She works with individuals at all stages of life, with a focus on young adults, adolescents and children looking to move through different challenges. Many of Lauren’s clients come in to work on expressing their emotions clearly and sharing those feelings with others. Lauren loves creating a warm and nurturing environment to support others in their goals and dreams. She also has advanced training in parent-child relationships through an attachment lens.
Lauren’s training is based in creative arts therapy which utilizes talk therapy while also having a well-stocked tool box to curate a fully personalized therapeutic environment. While some clients may mostly talk in sessions, others will access and process emotions through visual art making, imaginative exploration, mindfulness activities or a multitude of other creative possibilities. In session, Lauren helps guide clients as they find more ease in moving through difficult emotions and expressing themselves.
Lauren knows that therapy is a collaboration and prioritizes taking time to understand a client’s individual goals. She believes that you are the expert of yourself and provides a secure environment to empower you in finding solutions. She incorporates somatic approaches to increase connection between mind and body, thereby helping to build emotional regulation skills and increased awareness of one’s inner landscape.
After years of experience, Lauren has seen firsthand the value of the therapeutic relationship and aims to create a safe environment where you feel heard and seen as you create more space to radiate your unique goodness. She offers remote sessions as well as in-person sessions.
