Laverne Santangelo is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Shelby Township, MI. Laverne enjoys working with women who feel drawn to therapy to learn how to find a healthy balance in their lives. Many of Laverne’s clients feel like they can’t manage their emotions, leaving them to experience painful grief, depression, or anxiety. She specializes in working with women after major life experiences, including abortion, divorce, and a career change. Laverne helps these clients to better understand difficult emotions and to move past them into a state of comfort, health, and confidence.
Laverne is a certified Wholistic Life Coach and a yoga teacher. She takes a mind-body approach to therapy and encourages clients to pay attention to their physical, mental, and spiritual health. Clients can benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with Laverne, from which they’ll learn how to grow their self-awareness. Laverne helps clients understand their readiness for change and also teaches them how to identify their emotions, no matter how complex.
Laverne earned a Master’s degree from Oakland University. She is a retired army veteran who is passionate about incorporating mindfulness and yoga practices into the therapeutic space.
