Her approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that various aspects of one's history and identity are essential to fully understand their experience. She draws from Humanistic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy, and uses diverse treatment modalities based on the needs of her clients. She is in the process of receiving EMDR training and has been trained by Postpartum Support International and the Interpersonal Psychotherapy Institute to provide care to individuals in the peripartum stages.
Dr. Wheeler values social justice and equity and is invested in providing services that are safe for all. Her practice values and celebrates all cultural backgrounds and identities. She is available for remote therapy sessions on most days and evenings.
