Professional statement

Macie Quarles is a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) in the stated of Maryland and Delaware. She works with adults of all ages; many of whom address challenges related to Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Relationship Health, Life Balance and more. Many of her patients are individuals, parents, and professionals experiencing difficulty balancing the demands of life, their internal world, and desired reality.

Macie is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which supports exploration of thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors in order to shift toward patterns that promote growth and goal attainment. In sessions, Macie focuses on unpacking life stressors to process core beliefs and life experiences that impact progress. She introduces psycho education, mindfulness, breathing, self-care, and coping skills practices that promote balance and healthier habits. Macie's approach helps clients to understand themselves and feel empowered to make decisions that align with their life goals and purpose.

Macie's style is explorative, empathetic, and solution focused. When clients first start therapy, she works to understand their history, support them to establish goals, and to explore core beliefs and patterns that impact goal attainment.

Macie received her Master of Social Work (MSW) from The University of Pittsburgh. She has provided individual and family therapy in settings related to Treatment Foster Care, Substance Use, and Outpatient Mental Health. Outside of private practice, Macie enjoys spending time in nature through gardening, hiking, and being near water of any kind. Message to clients

What I think is important for you to know about my approach is that I genuinely care for you; and have a desire to see you thrive. I am invested in understanding you; in helping you to see your authentic self; and to love that self without ceasing.

Growth is a hard process; it’s a scary process, but it is valuable. I want to help you experience a life inspired by possibility. So often, we choose based on fear and expectation; not even knowing that is our pattern.

I want to help you lay down the expectations of others, of yourself; worries for the future; and hurt from the past. I want to help you embrace this moment as yours, to do with it what you choose, not want has been expected or conditioned.

Support and processing with me is honest and direct; inspired by compassion and empathy for you, just as you are.
