Manuela Mage is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, credentialed in the tristate area of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts. She works with folks who are dealing with anxiety and depression, adjustment disorders, major life changes, such as cultural and professional adjustments, and grief and loss, of various types. Many of Manuela’s clients, seek her out when struggling with contextual depression and anxiety, when going through profound changes rooted in loss, grief or major life transitions and when they are stuck in a personal or professional rut. Manuela is particularly passionate about serving folks who are struggling with finding their space and their strengths. She also has advanced training in the areas of PTSD, EMDR, Integrative Body-Mind Healing, Complex Grief, Stress Reduction, and Mindfulness.

Manuela started out as massage therapist, and later earned a BA in Linguistics and Languages in Portugal. Having completed a Master’s in Social Work and a Doctor of Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology. Manuela's field work at Jewish Family Services, and the Oncology Support Center of Kingston, helped solidify her experience in community mental health work in various nonprofits as well as pioneering work in Harm Reduction in Portugal. As a long term clinician at Maimonides Medical Center, provided her with deep experience in helping folks struggling with severe and pervasive mental illness, grif and and life changes. Outside of private practice, she is an avid reader, enjoys long walks, and long talks with friends, cooking, and feeling that she is part of the various communities she identifies with, both here and in Portugal.
