Marci is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals and couples working through difficult times. The individual work she specializes in includes clients who present with low self-worth, high anxiety, and confusion around repeating unhelpful or damaging patterns in their thoughts and behaviors. Many of the clients Marci works with have experienced some sort of trauma or dysfunction, whether that be in childhood or a recent traumatic event/relationship that has altered the way they think about themselves and how they interact with others. Marci often includes mindfulness interventions to process trauma and bring awareness to the mind body connection.
Marci also specializes in working with couples that are dealing with infidelity, communication issues, and parenting struggles. Whether the couple is looking to build on their connection or find a way to separate peacefully, Marci will facilitate open communication to help the couple achieve their goals. Marci holds a certification in Gottman Couple Therapy.
Marci’s approach is warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental while also direct and effective. She has an extensive background in treating trauma and anxiety. Marci has personal experience in the recovery of trauma and anxiety as well as professional experience. She has served a multitude of populations including high risk youth/families, business professionals, parents, and young adults. No matter the background, Marci will create a holistic and individualized treatment plan.
As a systemic therapist, Marci helps her clients explore the impact their childhood relationships and experiences have had on how they view the world today. She acknowledges that childhood experiences have created a blueprint in the way people view themselves and their connection with others. She will support you in identifying the negative thought patterns and stories you tell yourself and then help you restructure them to be more in line with your goals and authentic self.
