Maris Pasquale Doran is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist in the New York City metro area. Maris works with adults typically seeking therapeutic support because they have a level of dissatisfaction in their lives or relationships. Often, life transitions or other stressors cause them to feel overwhelmed or unfulfilled. Especially having experienced a global pandemic, many people are experiencing anxiety and uncertainty, and previous personal and professional roles and patterns have become less relevant as they navigate a “new normal.” Maris has a relaxed, personable demeanor and creates a comfortable space to help clients gain clarity about their situations and individual goals.
Viewing the therapeutic experience as an opportunity to learn more deeply about yourself, Maris engages a holistic therapeutic approach and explores all aspects of a client's life. Integrating mindfulness, she aims not only to increase self-awareness but also an individual’s sense of being present in their life and engaging in it with purpose and intention.
Maris graduated cum laude from Georgetown University where she received her BA in psychology. She has an MS in social work from Columbia University and a post masters certificate in advanced assessment and diagnosis from NYU. She has a history of clinical work, professional writing, and presenting on the emotional impact of illness and chronic pain. Her experience makes her uniquely positioned to address the many variables that evolve from living through a pandemic.
Based in New Jersey, Maris is licensed in both New Jersey and New York and is currently seeing clients from both states exclusively via telehealth at this time.
