When is it time to make a change? Are you feeling lonely? Anxious? Sad? Often, these feelings show us the need to do something differently. Change is an inevitable part of life; however, whether we want it or not, change is difficult.
Navigating change and the mix of emotions and stressors that often accompany is stressful enough; it does not have to be lonely. Sharing the burden and journey of change can make an incredible difference. This is where partnership joins therapy. Dr. Mary Collins partners with you through these journeys. Dr. Collins is a psychologist focused on working with young adult and adult clients as they navigate a variety of stressors and challenges. Many of her clients come in to address life transitions, anxiety, stress, sadness, and the need for a change. Dr. Collins is particularly enthusiastic about serving recent graduates, new parents, those going through life transitions, and addressing the feelings and self-doubt that often arise in response.
When you first start therapy, you will be welcomed into a comfortable, non-judgmental space, where you will be invited to share your thoughts, reactions, and explore your history. Through questions and prompts, you will examine areas where you feel stuck, focus on your goals, history, and patterns that are impacting your daily life, and work towards making choices that are based on your values and how you want to authentically live.
Dr. Collins earned her Psy.D. from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She worked for 10 years as training director of a doctoral internship program while maintaining a private practice. She has specialized interest in mindfulness, providing supervision, and program development.
Outside the office, she enjoys reading, running around with her family and pups, and exploring hiking trails.
