Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, MA Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT Practice: TherapySmith, Inc.Mason Lewerenz, MA, is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT#130347) and a graduate of the Clinical Psychology Master’s Degree Program at Antioch University Los Angeles, class of 2021. He provides eclectic therapy to residents of California, within and around the Los Angeles metropolitan area, via secure face-to-face video-conferencing. Mason is supervised by Dr. Katherine W. Smith, LMFT#115452.
Mason is an eclectic therapist. He selectively applies techniques from a variety of approaches to best fit each client’s needs. Working together, we take our time to explore issues as they come up; whether it’s the ‘issue of the week,’ a themed exploration, an interaction with friends or family, or a recurrent source of distress. Mason strives to create a relational micro-system to safely explore, experiment, and challenge distress.
Mason utilizes Eclectic Therapy because it can be used to addresses a wide range of mental health concerns. His approach works because therapy is dynamically tailored a client's unique and evolving areas of concern.
Mason believes in Inclusive and Affirmative Therapy. He offers psychotherapy services to all people. One way this is done, for example, is through decentering white, heterosexual, monocentric, ableist, and cisgender perspectives. A client's individual experiences and the intersection of identities are a priority. Mason explores identity and identity development with all clients. Inclusive therapy addresses external forces that have impacted people which also include cultural, social, and economic factors. Mason provides LGBTQ Affirmative, BIPOC Affirmative, CNM Affirming, and Kink Affirming therapies.
