Professional statement

Dr. Meghann Wraight is a psychologist located in Glen Allen, VA providing telehealth services to clients in Virginia and Washington D.C. Dr. Wraight works with clients who are motivated to connect with a therapist that can support them through painful experiences and help empower them to strengthen their sense of well-being. Her practice focuses on difficulties with anxiety, depression, life transition, bereavement and loss, and LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. Often, her clients will experience an interpersonal crisis or change that can overwhelm their ability to cope or access the resilience they once felt they had. These overwhelming experiences can be because of relationship conflict, grief and loss, changes in life such as job transitions, health changes, as well as the impact of discrimination and bias on one's identity. Dr. Wraight works to establish a therapeutic relationship to assist clients in sharing their stories in a safe environment, learn new ways to cope, and to connect with a meaningful support system.

Dr. Wraight primarily uses cognitive-behavior therapy, as well as relational, compassion-focused, strength-based, and mindfulness interventions to help clients feel better. Dr. Wraight earned her doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University at Buffalo and has 15+ years of experience in the mental health field.

Message to clients

If you are struggling, I am glad you are reaching out for more support. Seeking help can be an overwhelming and uncertain process. As you explore your options, believe that you are deserving and worthy of finding a safe space. My practice's values are grounded in respecting your story, being there with you through painful experiences, and empowering you to make the lasting changes you hope for. As a therapist, your personal development is my priority and it is my intention to support your growth as you face life’s challenges.

During initial visits, I spend time listening to your concerns and provide feedback about how therapy may be able to help. We then collaboratively develop an individualized plan for moving forward. I am trained in evidence-based therapies that help you explore how your relationship patterns & thoughts can shift in order to improve how you feel.

It is my belief that as people increase their self-awareness and acceptance of themselves, they are more capable of finding a sense of contentment in their lives. Therapy is most successful when you are motivated to take an active role & find a good fit with a therapist. If you are ready to take the next step, I invite you to contact me.
