Natalie is a Licensed Master Social Worker born and raised in the Pacific Northwest who received her Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and now practices psychotherapy in New York City. She has worked with adults and children in a range of settings, both in North America and abroad, including schools, non-profit organizations, courts, and domestic violence shelters. Her main areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, and academic and work-related stress.
As a social worker and psychotherapist, Natalie's main goal is to help people identify and remove barriers to living a fulfilling life. She aims to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves in a nonjudgmental and trauma informed space. She collaborates with clients to explore thought patterns, beliefs, and habits that influence how they feel, and social and cultural dynamics that shape their experiences. Throughout this process she hopes to empower clients and help them develop coping skills to better manage the external and internal stress they experience on a daily basis.
Natalie takes an integrative, relational and holistic approach in therapy that is trauma informed, strengths based, and person centered. As a Columbia graduate, she is trained in multiple empirical and evidence based approaches, primarily utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Experiential Therapy (AEDP), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and draws from mindfulness and attachment theory. She values compassion and building trust with her patients, and works through an anti-racist and empowerment focused lens.
Natalie is only seeing patients remotely via telehealth at this time, but will resume an in-person practice as soon as possible.
