I am a gay CBT therapist who is multiculturally competent and specializes in relationship issues and substance abuse. I am passionate about helping my clients achieve their mental health goals and live their best lives. I believe that everyone has the potential to change and grow, and I am committed to providing a supportive and affirming environment for my clients.
In my work, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relational therapy. I believe that CBT is a powerful tool for helping clients identify and change negative thinking patterns and behaviors. ACT can help clients learn to accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment, and to live a life that is consistent with their values. Relational therapy focuses on the importance of relationships in our lives, and can help clients to improve their communication and conflict resolution skills.
I am particularly interested in working with gay men and other LGBTQ+ individuals. I understand the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ people face, and I am committed to providing culturally competent care. I am also experienced in working with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and I am sensitive to the unique needs of each individual.
In my work with couples, I help them to improve their communication and conflict resolution skills, and to build a stronger relationship. I also work with individuals who are struggling with substance abuse. I help them to understand their addiction, develop coping mechanisms, and build a support system.
