Message to clients

“In my early professional years, I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for [their] own personal growth?”

― Carl R. Rogers

The ability to grow and thrive is in you. My approach is to offer a safe, honest, supportive, and non-judgmental relationship that can be used as a foundation to try new coping strategies, process life experiences, and make big decisions toward improving your life.

Our work together may involve learning practices from evidence-based interventions (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) that give more immediate relief to issues like anxiety, stress, and depression. Understanding and altering enduring beliefs and patterns of behavior, including relationships, which can underlie these issues is often the next step.

I also see myself as a holistic therapist. Put simply – this means that I believe our physical, mental, and spiritual health are connected and each should be considered in therapy. With this in mind, I may encourage you to explore areas of your life seemingly unrelated to your primary concern, such as diet, physical activity, and technology use.
