Noelia Breitman is a National Board Certified Mental Health Counselor and Psychotherapist. Many of Noelia’s clients come to address life or work stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, anger-management and relationship problems. She is also a Certified Trauma Specialist with experience treating traumatic experiences, PTSD and abuse.
Noelia’s approach involves a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. This approach examines the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors, identifies unhelpful thinking patterns that affect your mood and perception, and challenges cognitive biases to find healthier perspectives. Through Mindfulness, Noelia can help you slow down and create a space of awareness where you can observe your internal processes, monitor your symptoms, and learn to intervene with calming or coping strategies. During treatment, you will develop a set of calming and coping strategies to apply in stressful or triggering situations, such as thought-stopping techniques, breathing exercises, visualizations, grounding exercises, and bilateral stimulation for self-regulation. Also, you will learn skills to monitor thinking patterns, symptoms and behaviors that you want to change. You will learn about your nervous system and what happens in your brain when you become stressed, anxious or depressed, as well as strategies to help your brain with self-regulation. Noelia’s goal is to help you feel more in control of your thoughts, emotions and reactions, allowing you to make healthy choices and feel more fulfilled, empowered, present and balanced.
Noelia's style is supportive, empathetic and solution-focused. When you first start therapy, Noelia will take the time to get to know you, your past history, needs and expectations. Her therapy fosters a warm and collaborative relationship, were you will feel comfortable, heard and understood.
