Professional statement

Nora Gross is an integrative psychotherapist with 15 years of prior experience as a medical and perinatal massage therapist — a background that trained her to listen closely, not just to what people say, but to what their bodies are communicating underneath it. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and brings a social justice lens to her work, recognizing that identities, relationships, and systems aren't separate from mental health — they're central to it.

Her approach is integrative in the truest sense: she draws from DBT, parts-based therapy, psychodynamic work, and somatic practices, using whatever actually fits the person in front of her rather than running the same playbook regardless of whether it's working. Sometimes that means building skills and making sense of patterns. Sometimes it means slowing down and getting curious about breath, sensation, and what the body already knows. Often, it involves both.

Nora's style is direct and grounded — someone who will be genuinely warm, tell you what she notices, and gently challenge you when it matters. Sessions tend to involve more honesty than platitudes, and occasionally more laughter than people expect. The goal isn't perfection or performance; it's helping clients build a sturdier sense of self, clearer boundaries, and the capacity to show up more fully in their own lives and relationships.

Nora works with teens, adults of all ages, and couples. She sees clients with complex trauma histories, neurodivergent adults, and people navigating identity, major life transitions, and the slower work of learning to feel at home in themselves. Her practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, kink aware, and non-monogamy affirming. All sessions are conducted via a secure telehealth platform throughout California.

Message to clients

Maybe you've always felt a little different — like you see things others miss, feel things more deeply than seems convenient, or spend more energy managing everyone else's needs than your own. Maybe that's showing up as anxiety, depression, relationship patterns you can't seem to break, or just a nagging sense that something is off even when you can't name it. If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

I work best with people who are genuinely curious about themselves and willing to get a little uncomfortable in service of real change. I especially love working with folks navigating complex trauma, people-pleasing, self-worth, and figuring out your own needs when you've spent years prioritizing everyone else's. Neurodivergent people, kinksters, and those in non-monogamous relationships are deeply welcome — your whole self shows up to therapy, and that's exactly how it should be.

My hope is that you leave feeling more like yourself than when you started — more regulated, clearer on your boundaries, and a little less at war with who you are. We'll probably laugh sometimes. We'll likely go to some hard places too. That's the deal.
