Professional statement

Olivita Aadland is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Seattle, WA. Olivita’s speciality lies in supporting individuals who have previously experienced traumatic events or traumatic relationships. Many of her clients have difficulties getting through everyday routines because of their PTSD or anxiety. They also find themselves in conflict with loved ones and unable to manage their emotional reactions to disruption.

Olivita practices the trauma-informed therapy modality Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. After teaching clients effective coping skills, Olivita encourages clients to think through difficult or painful memories and facilitates a safe, secure environment for clients to put those memories behind them. This can help decrease their anxiety or PTSD symptoms outside of the therapy session. She also offers hypnotherapy for clients who would like to heal from their trauma. For couples therapy, she incorporates elements of The Gottman Method to help couples grow their bonds and move past conflicts.

Olivita earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. She is certified in EMDR, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), The Gottman Method, and hypnotherapy. She believes in equipping clients with the tools they need to live comfortably so they no longer need the support of a therapist.
