Having extensive training in both of these areas gives her the unique ability to specialize in serving both couples and individuals with complex needs.
Patience uses a direct style of communication and challenges her clients, creating accountability for their goals and a higher motivation to grow. With Individuals, Patience’s utilizes a therapeutic approach that explores childhood wounds in order to make connections current thoughts, behaviors and reactions that are damaging in our everyday lives.
With couples, along with assisting in building better communication skills and increasing intimacy, Patience helps to identify patterns in relationships that haven’t been working. She works with her clients to create new patterns that lead to less conflict and more connection.
Patience specializes in Marriage, Divorce, Coparenting, Adoption and Trauma.
Both in person and virtual sessions are offered. In person location is in the Houston Heights area. For high conflict couples, families, complex trauma and for children, Patience prefers to offer in person sessions. However, she is willing to offer virtual sessions if that best serves the needs of the client.
Patience has additional training in trauma, play therapy, IFS, and is Gottman Level 1 and 2 trained.
Adoption & foster care - Support around pre- and post-adoption challenges including family dynamics, challenging behaviors, attachment issues, and navigation of the child welfare system or adoption agencies
Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Divorce & separation - Questioning or feeling unsatisfied in your relationship; contemplation and navigation of separation; addressing issues of power, voice, and communication challenges
