Rebecca Whitmore has over 30 years of experience and training in providing interventions based in neuroscience that focus on strengthening emotional insight, developing emotional resiliency, and cultivating an authentic and confident sense of self. Rebecca's approach begins by identifying resources and building on personal strengths as a pathway to increasing capacity to experience joy, compassionate self-regard, and loving relationships with others.
Rebecca believes that people grow and heal best when they feel safely connected, supported, and not alone in facing difficult situations and vulnerable emotions. She provides her clients with portable practices to use between sessions that support reduction of anxiety and increased emotional wellness.
Rebecca works with Adults, Couples, Children, and Parents. She is trained in and integrates Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Imagery, Sand Therapy, Play Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Short Term Intensive Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and IMAGO relational therapy.
Rebecca also has a master’s degree in special education and extensive experience in both private and public school settings providing parent coaching to navigate diagnosis and treatment of behavioral, social, learning, and developmental challenges in children and adolescents.
