Renya Larson is a licensed therapist with specialized training in porn and sex addition. She uses evidence-based approaches to help people who are struggling with sexually compulsive behavior to break free of the cycle and begin to heal. Renya also works individually with intimate partners who are experiencing betrayal trauma, as well as with couples who need support and coaching to find their way through the crisis and toward the future they envision.

Renya customizes her approach with each client, drawing from her training in Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cogntitive Behavior Therapy (CBR), and mindfulness-based approaches. Renya has specialized training in working with couples from the Gestalt International Study Center.

As a clinician, Renya's first step is to create a compassionate, non-judgemtal space for clients to share themselves openly. She welcomes "all parts" of her clients into the room, even those parts that have been living in secret. She also strongly believes that clients are more than their problems -- they also have unique strengths and values that can help them on their road to recovery.

I am part of a private practice that focuses exclusively and comprehensively on porn and sex addiction. We offer treatment that is consistent with best-practice in the addiction treatment field more broadly, but that also takes into account the ways that porn and sex addiction are unique. If you chose to work with me, you can feel confident that you are getting help that is tailored to your needs and grounded in evidence-based practice.

Another important factor in choosing a therapist is about "fit". That's a subjective criteria that really about finding someone who feels right to you. Before scheduling a free consultation with me, I encourage you to take some time to consider what you want from your therapist. What would put you at ease? What would really turn you off or make you shut down? I encourage you to trust your instincts. I also encourage you to ask me questions. This will help you get what you need out of your consultation, and also set the stage for our therapeutic collaboration.
