Rosalba Mendoza is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the Steele Creek area. She works with individuals and groups. Many of Rosie Mendoza’s clients come in to address depression, anxiety, life transition, and trauma. Rosie Mendoza is particularly passionate about serving young adults, veterans, college students, and adults. She also has advanced training in obsessive-compulsive disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety.

Rosie Mendoza is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and experiential therapy, in which she likes to use psychoeducation to help her clients understand their diagnosis and the treatment on how it will benefit them. These theories help rewire the brain to look at things differently. In session, Rosie Mendoza focuses on breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and journaling. This approach supports clients to feel more relaxed, set boundaries, and reduce stress with the tools they learned in therapy.

Rosie Mendoza's style is engaging, goal-oriented, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, establish a strong relationship and comfortable environment where they feel safe and heard.

Rosie Mendoza received their M.A.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She has worked at Counseling Services at Steele Creek, where she counseled a variety of clients such as children, teenagers, young adults and adults during her internship.. Outside of private practice, she enjoys reading and spending time with her dogs. Rosie offers both in-person and remote therapy sessions.
