Samantha, who goes by Sam, is a licensed professional counselor and board-certified art therapist. She is located in the greater Philadelphia area, and provides individual psychotherapy via telehealth to clients within the state of Pennsylvania.
Sam enjoys working with motivated individuals willing to take healthy risks to better their lives. Her typical clients may identify as "people pleasers," or are known to be “strong” and “reliable.” While such qualities can be admirable, they may also contribute to difficulty identifying and addressing one’s own needs. If you're here, you may recognize the need to change and adjust your relationships accordingly. We can likely all agree that change is hard, and sometimes it is easier to stay in the same rhythm than to take a risk and make a change - even if that change can make a significant positive impact on our lives. If you're ready to take the steps to make a positive change in your life, Sam may be the support you need in figuring out the best methods to make it happen.
Sam believes that each individual has the skills needed to succeed in life, and may need a supportive space in which to discover and develop these skills. She approaches therapy from a psychodynamic, person-centered approach that explores your lived experience and how this may contribute to current challenges. In forming a trusting therapeutic relationship, Sam aims to dive deeper using traditional talk therapy or creative expression to better understand relational patterns and identify the need for change. From there, she offers elements from CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and self-compassion to support skill building in pursuit of client-identified, individualized goals.
