Professional statement

I work with adults (18+) who are experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulties with adjustment or life transitions, career related concerns, trauma-related stress, among others. I use a combination of mindfulness-based techniques/ therapy approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT), solution-focus, and person-centered counseling. In addition to my counseling experience, I have 8+ years of working as a helping professional in a variety of settings including homeless shelters, wilderness therapy, transitional therapy programs, and universities. Helping people is very important to living my life according to my core values. I am available for in person sessions in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC on Wednesday and Thursday mornings (8am-12pm) and all day Saturday (9am-4pm), and am available for telehealth counseling all day Tuesday (9am-4pm), Wednesday and Thursdays afternoons (2-5pm), and Friday and Saturday (9am-4pm). I am open to early morning sessions. Thank you for your consideration and hope that we can connect soon!

Message to clients

Welcome! Growth and change as a human being is not a linear path and that can be incredibly frustrating. Elements of ourselves that we thought we had previously dealt with continue to pop up in our day-to-day lives and make it feel like we are back to square one- what the actual heck. Our minds are powerful in that our stream of conscious thoughts try to bully us into patterns that feel most safe and comfortable, even when that is to the detriment to our being as a whole. As a mindfulness-based counselor, I am deeply committed to helping individuals navigate through life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and healing.

Mindfulness is at the heart of my therapeutic approach. By cultivating present-moment awareness and acceptance, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and sensations with curiosity and kindness. Through mindfulness-based techniques such as meditation, breathwork, and body awareness, we can uncover patterns, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience.

Get in Touch: If you're ready to embrace self-discovery and healing, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session. Remember, healing is not a linear process, but with patience, perseverance, and support, transformation is possible. I look forward to walking alongside you on your path towards greater well-being and fulfillment.
