Shalyn Coleman is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She specializes in anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, attachment-related issues and trauma.
Shalyn’s approach is both compassionate and skills-based. She helps clients to learn to sit with the unknown – eventually growing to tolerate uncertainty in a manner that feels manageable and helps individuals feel more in control.
Shalyn helps clients identify red flags in relationships, as well as end the ones that no longer serve them. As an advocate for personal empowerment, she helps clients to break undesirable cycles, set relationship boundaries, and attain independence.
Additionally, Shalyn is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treatment, widely considered the most effective and evidence-supported treatment for the treatment of OCD with or without medication. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), the gold-standard treatment for personality disorders and a skills-based treatment aimed at improving one's own capacity for regulating emotions and tolerating distress.
Shalyn strongly believes that with acceptance, comes change – and she looks forward to helping each client enact positive change in their lives.
