Dr. Spencer Cruz-Katz is a licensed psychologist, and the founder of Beacon Psychology in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Cruz-Katz is a cognitive-behavioral therapist who utilizes components from third-wave treatments such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Cruz-Katz earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University where he focused on the assessment of adolescent trauma exposure.

In his 25 year career, he has worked as a substance abuse counselor, foster care case manager, research assistant, and professor of psychology before joining a large group practice in Richmond, VA. Four years later, Dr. Cruz-Katz opened his own, local practice, Beacon Psychology, where he is now able to work with and in his home community.
