Professional statement

Sydney is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor located in New York City specializing in anxiety, depression, family issues, and life changes. Sydney works with adolescents and adults as they navigate their lives to find greater meaning, joy, and understanding.

Sydney is passionate about helping people who feel stuck, uheard, unseen, or unloved by exploring their histories and relational patterns. Utilizing a psychodynamic approach, Sydney works collaboratively with clients to uncover aspects of their past that reflect into their current life struggles or successes. The maladaptive patterns formed during early childhood serve as an anchor in session, while integrating narrative therapy and CBT interventions. Understanding, confronting, and deepening one’s relationship with their past is a way to heal, foster better relationships, and increase self-esteem.

Sydney received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in March 2022. Previously, she completed an undergraduate in Creative Writing at Johns Hopkins University in 2018. Her background in the arts allows her to work innovatively with clients on their unique journey.

Sydney is currently available for remote sessions.

Message to clients

You are the author of your own story. You have the right and ability to make yourself the protagonist. So often, we find ourselves falling into patterns that don’t make us feel inspired or energized. Together, we will work together to confront the source of those patterns, learn new ways of engaging with the world, and rewrite your story. I am passionate about engendering clients to become their most authentic beautiful selves, without the hindrance of the weight of the past. Together, my goal is to arrive with you at a place of deep understanding and revelation.
