Tasha Novotny is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minneapolis, MN. Her work focuses on helping parents, caregivers, children and adolescents grow in their capacity for self-care and self-compassion. Tasha also has extensive history as a school social worker and enjoys helping parents advocate for their children's unique learning need within the educational system. Tasha practices from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive lens and works to uphold the worth and dignity of all humans.
Tasha helps clients manage their symptoms and difficulties through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and psychoeducation. In sessions with Tasha, clients experience a warm and caring space to share their recent challenges, successes, worries, and joys. During these conversations Tasha helps clients understand their neurobiology and how these every-day experiences impact brain functioning and somatic experiences. Through this work, Tasha teaches individuals skills and tools to help navigate difficult moments with calm and confidence.
Tasha is accepting clients virtually and in-person. Her office is located on 48th and Chicago in S. Minneapolis. She has evening and weekend appointments available.
Caregiver stress & support - Coping with anxiety, stress, fatigue, and burnout related to caring for a loved one; balancing the needs of others with one's own needs and health
Child mental health - Specialized strategies for common childhood disorders including attention issues, attachment problems, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, and feeding or elimination issues.
Parenting - Helping parents develop and implement strategies to address challenges that arise throughout childrearing; managing stress and increasing support
Mood disorders - Clinical depression, persistent depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders that cause disturbances in the client's mood, causing mood swings, restless sleep, and/or elevated mood
Self-care - Learning what effective self-care looks like and incorporating these strategies into daily life; developing an awareness of wellbeing to identify when one needs to practice self-care
