Toby Howell

Toby Howell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Bellaire, TX. Toby specializes in working with individuals who experienced trauma as children. Many of Toby’s clients feel the effects of trauma in their adult lives, whether that’s in the workplace, in relationships, or in the way that they feel about themselves. Toby helps clients identify how their trauma impacts them, develop ways to handle those symptoms, and move forward in their lives.

Toby’s style of therapy draws heavily from attachment theory. Attachment-based therapy often explores the relationships that clients had as children and what they learned about connecting with other people - the good ways and the bad ways. Toby supports clients exploring their relationship patterns and breaking free from the unhealthy inclinations.Toby also has additional training in Somatic Experiencing therapy, a therapy that helps clients become attuned to their bodies and minds while remembering the traumatic events as a way of overcoming what happened.

Toby earned his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. His dedication to listening to clients without judgement and showing compassion for all creates a sense of security where clients feel comfortable exploring their pasts. With a humanistic approach, Toby believes that all people should feel comfortable in their lives and make choices for the betterment of their health.
