Many of his clients bring in emotional pain, whether the symptoms of anxiety and depression are taking a daily toll, relationships feel unbalanced and disconnected, or stress and self-criticism are impacting performance at work or school. Together, he supports clients to pull back the layers of present challenges in order to release painful past experiences and re-engage with their passions, purpose, their loved ones, and themselves in more meaningful ways.
Therapy sessions with Tyler integrate both insight-oriented and skills-based approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy. He gently challenges clients to explore the root cause of their symptoms, gaining new awareness into their emotional and relationship patterns. At the same time, he focuses on practical strategies, with an emphasis on relaxation and meditation practices, to help clients feel better in the here and now.
He brings a special awareness to the healing power of the mind-body connection in regards to trauma, depressions, and anxiety, Tylers office serves as a safe harbor to freely process emotional pain and find relief.
Tyler is committed to maintaining an inclusive practice. With a background in the Substance abuse field, non-profit 501c3, and trauma therapy, he is particularly sensitive to the recovery process, and welcomes anyone looking to help advance the cause toward better mental health and being a part of the changes needed to heal our communities.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Drug addiction & abuse - Tolerating emotional discomfort; reducing or eliminating reliance on drugs; development of new coping mechanisms for stress and suffering. I am personally in long-term recovery from substance use and have a real world perspective that may be helpful for those struggling with substance use disorder.
Loss, grief, and bereavement - Emotionally preparing for the anticipated passing of a loved one; managing feelings and reactions to a death or loss of significance; support during the process of healing and acceptance
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past using Accelerated resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Focused-Cognitive behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT-Used primarily with children with trauma) to help clients work through difficult traumatic experiences.
