Professional statement

Vicki Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She has a private practice via online counseling. All ages are welcome and individual, couple and/or family counseling is available. Relationship issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, grief/loss and much more can make daily life difficult. Vicki can help you find ways to cope with life and to function better than you currently are. She offers a relaxed, supportive, warm environment from the comfort of your own home.

Vicki often uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT focuses on the way people think and act to help them with their emotional/behavioral problems. The goal of therapy is to recognize how these thoughts affect one’s feelings and actions. Once these connections are made, clients learn to replace negative thoughts with healthy ones that result in healthier emotions and behaviors. She uses a friendly approach but knows how to push when needed.

Having worked in public schools for 30 years, Vicki has experience working with diverse populations with a myriad of personal issues. She specializes in working with adolescents but has experience working with all age groups. She is very adept at dealing with unexpected issues that may arise and can go with flow when necessary.

Message to clients

My personal goal is for you to be your healthiest self. You should have a willingness to work hard and be open to the process. We won't be trying to create a perfect life nor will change happen overnight. Change is a process and we need to trust in that process. I will work with you on whatever issues you feel need to be addressed. It's important that you know what to expect from me and you share what you expect to gain from therapy. Our goal is for you to become a happier and healthier you.
