Professional statement

Ylira Pimentel-Diaz is Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Boston, MA. She has spent over a decade in behavioral health including residential, in-home, and outpatient providers such as BayCove, Vinfen, and Partners Healthcare. Prior to private practice, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) delivering individual, couple, and family therapy. Currently, she is also a consultant to the Resilience Enhancement and Prevention Program at MGH Boston.

Her practice is specifically catered to help those seeking to alleviate issues stemming from anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and parenting. Additionally, she enjoys working with clients of diverse cultural backgrounds, and has expertise in intersectionality and cultural/racial/religious identity issues. She incorporates a wide range of therapy modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Mindfulness Practices to ensure that her clients feel both support and progress every step of the way in therapy.

Ylira's practice lends itself to helping clients achieve awareness and mindfulness in their daily lives. She has worked extensively with individuals impacted by trauma, helping them to safely unpack and process their experiences, as well as to find effective coping mechanisms to move forward. Each of her decisions as a clinician is informed by compassion and patience - she moves at the client's pace throughout each session. She works to ensure that her feedback is clear, honest, and helpful.
