Professional statement

Yuliya Golubev is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in the state of New York and a Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. Her practice is primarily online. Yuliya is a seasoned bilingual-bicultural therapist with more than 14 years of experience in various clinical settings prior to opening her practice.

Yuliya supports people going through major life transitions such as becoming a parent, starting a relationship or dealing with the breakup, having work-related stress, becoming an entrepreneur, or getting through graduate school. Yuliya also works with clients who suffer from low self-esteem and those who feel like there’s something in the way of enjoying life. By providing safe and supportive space for individuals and couples, Yuliya empowers clients to feel good about themselves, build resiliency and take steps towards greater happiness. Yuliya is particularly passionate about working with new or expectant mothers, or couples adjusting to parenthood. She also supports couples and individuals going through infertility or loss.

Yuliya draws from a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal-Family Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques that lead to clients' healing and self-empowering. She helps clients to recognize mind and body connection and how their experience emotions in their bodies which lead to discovering self-energy, curiosity, confidence, compassion with themselves and in their relationship.

During the first sessions, Yuliya invites clients to set up goals for their emotional wellness. By establishing coping skills and learning more about themselves, Yuliya supports clients to take steps towards those goals during sessions as well as outside sessions. Yuliya helps clients identify which thought patterns no longer serve them. She listens to clients speak about their anxieties and fears with compassion and empathy and collaboratively with clients explore different perspectives to consider which lead to change.

Message to clients

It has been a difficult year for you ... Taking care of your emotional wellness is not a luxury but a necessity.

During our first sessions together, I will listen to your story and we will collaboratively define what is important to address first to start your healing. We will build upon coping skills together, and with my compassion, I will support you through the therapy process. Together we will explore the narratives that are not serving you anymore, and create the alternative narrative that will help to discover your inner strength and move forward.

You might feel intimidated to start therapy. You might also have a past negative experience in the therapy. You are not alone. I am here to support you through this journey.
