In my work, I've found that people are most open to exploration and change when they have a partner they trust in that process. I give my clients tools to look at their experiences and emotions in the spirit of inquiry, and move past fear and avoidance. When a client brings me their story, we work together to understand it, through trust, humor, creativity, and perseverance. I respect each client's strengths, and believe they can harness their own potential to live a more aware and satisfying life.

Therapy is a unique, complex endeavor. That’s because all individuals engaging in it—therapists and clients, alike—are precisely those two things:  unique and complex. I stay mindful of these things by embracing curiosity and acceptance, and suspending, to the greatest extent possible, judgments and biases. I relish the challenge of making sense of our messy, confounding selves and experiences; of loosening the tangled knots of our intersecting identities; and of easing the pressures we absorb from external, powerful forces. I look forward to figuring out with you the adjustments that can be made to support you in reaching your goals. It would be my privilege to be there as you uncover the internal resources needed to aid you in realizing your full potential.

Therapy is an opportunity to speak with a someone who is objective, nonjudgemental, and compassionate. This is a time just for you. Our therapeutic relationship is essentially a blank slate as I will not have outside associations with your friends, family, or work colleagues. Your time in therapy is an opportunity to process experiences, thoughts, and feelings that you may not feel comfortable sharing with others. In my sessions, I take a collaborative and strength based approach with my clients. I will guide you to look at situations and relationships from multiple perspectives and I will gently challenge you as needed. I believe that every person has a unique set of strengths and we will work together to overcome your challenges and obstacles.
In my sessions, Art Therapy is always an option for you. Art Therapy can be utilized in two ways. The first is to allow for the use of art materials to be calming and soothing. Clients often feel more comfortable speaking about difficult topics while simultaneously using art materials. The second is to collaboratively analyze what you've created towards the end of session, often through metaphor and symbolism.

Finding a therapist can feel daunting, and I admire the energy and courage it takes to seek support.

I am a licensed psychologist providing multi-culturally sensitive therapy for young adults struggling with early trauma, perfectionism and self-criticism, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, body image and eating concerns, anxiety, depression, and more. I provide a warm, open, accepting space, knowing that you need to feel safe and understood before you can experiment with change and growth.

I like to get to know you as a whole person, together developing a nuanced understanding of your current concerns, history, identities, strengths, and struggles. I also focus on helping you develop a more authentic, integrated, and honest self. I believe that the less energy we spend trying to deny, hide, avoid, or change painful aspects of ourselves and our experiences, the more energy we have to pursue what brings meaning and fulfillment to our lives.

I deeply value diversity and am trained to provide multiculturally-competent counseling. I’m interested in understanding how your racial/ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, religious, dis/ability, class, and other identities have shaped your life. I welcome clients of color and clients of all genders and sexual orientations, and aim to create a space in which it is safe to explore parts of your identity that have been marginalized, oppressed, or traumatized.

Therapy can seem full of mystery or stigma, and my hope is to reduce both. If you think we might work well together, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would welcome the opportunity to learn about you and your needs, answer any questions, and decide together if we might be a good fit.
